In order to remove the blank from the die casting mold, the mold needs to be properly divided into several parts to facilitate demolding.
The number of parting surfaces are: single parting surface, double parting surface and multiple parting surface. The shapes of the parting surface are: plane, inclined surface, stepped surface and curved surface. The relationship between the parting surface and the mold opening direction is as follows: parallel to the mold opening direction, perpendicular to the mold opening direction, and forming an oblique angle with the mold opening direction.
The part required for coaxiality should be formed in the male mold. If it is formed in the male and female molds, it will be difficult to ensure the coaxiality due to inaccurate mold clamping.
When selecting the parting surface, consideration should be given to reducing the size difference between the large and small ends of the casting due to the drafting slope. If the mold socket is set in the male mold, the size difference between the large and small ends of the casting will be too large due to the drafting slope. When the demoulding slope is large, the use of this structure makes demolding difficult. If the appearance of the casting is not strictly required, the parting can be selected in the middle of the casting, and a small demoulding slope can be used to facilitate demoulding.
In order to facilitate the demoulding of the casting, the casting should be kept in the male mold as much as possible when the mold is opened, as long as the bonding force between the casting and the male mold is greater than the bonding force between the casting and the female mold, and the gap between the mold and the female mold should be as unsightly as possible. There is a certain bonding force, and the bonding force between the casting and the mold should not be placed on the male mold.
The overall structure of the mold is simplified, the number of parting surfaces is minimized, and the straight parting surface is used as much as possible. It should also be considered whether the mold is easy to process and easy to take out the finished product, and the parting surface should be selected as far as possible on the ridgeline of the product to ensure easy machining of the mold.
